Preventing and combating bullying in the Republic of Moldova

A new project, part of the grant program within the project “Together for Quality Education” implemented by APSCF with the financial support of Liechtenstein Development Service (LED), was launched by the Civic Education Association “The Future Starts Today” from mun. Ungheni on 17 November 2022.

The project “Tolerance offers Chance. Reducing bullying in Cetireni Gymnasium, r. Ungheni” aims to raise awareness of the school community about the negative impact of this phenomenon, to take over and apply good practices in this area, to create a school-wide system for preventing and solving cases of bullying, and to organize information and awareness-raising activities among students, parents and village citizens about this phenomenon.
At the launch event, attended by teachers and students of the Gymnasium, representatives of the local public administration and civil society, the Project Manager, Constantin Stratulat, said that its implementation provides models and good solutions to learn and take, thus stepping towards a better, more tolerant society.

The headmistress of Cetireni Gymnasium, Elena Gorincioi, spoke about cases of bullying, which she had faced and for which a solution had been identified, mentioning at the same time that for pedagogues it is a new phenomenon, less known, and that the Project “Tolerance offers a Chance. Reducing bullying in Cetireni Gymnasium, Ungheni district” will help teachers to know this phenomenon better and, most importantly, will help them to manage bullying cases correctly and professionally!

Ana Dicusar, the mayor of the locality, welcomed the launch of the project, which will target children and teachers of the Cetireni Gymnasium, while Olga Popa, deputy head of the Ungheni Education Department, referred to the phenomenon of bullying in schools and the need to manage it correctly.

The project “Tolerance offers a chance. Diminution of bullying phenomenon in Cetireni Secondary School, Ungheni district” is implemented by AO Civic Education Association “The Future Starts Today” from mun. Ungheni and is part of the Project “Together for Quality Education”, implemented by the AO “Alliance of NGOs Active in the Field of Social Protection of Children and Families” (APSCF) and funded by the International Foundation “Liechtenstein Development Service” (LED).

The project will be implemented from 01.11.2022 to 31.07.2023.
