The child protection system in Chisinau will be evaluated

On August 3, 2018, APSCF together with UNICEF Moldova signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chisinau Municipal Council in order to strengthen the child protection system in the city. According to it, the two organizations will assess the efficiency and effectiveness of the Municipal Child Protection Direction in Chisinau.

At the press conference, Ruslan Codreanu, acting mayor of the capital, said a few shortcomings of the child protection system in Chisinau, such as the protection of street children and said that “we want an effective Municipal Direction for Child Protection, to respond promptly to all 24/24 needs and protection requests to ensure the safety and security of all children.

Liliana Rotaru, President of the APSCF, added details of the initiative, saying that “in this evaluation process, the experts will take into account the achievements and potential of the Municipal Direction for Child Protection, but also the challenges that families face in risk situations”.

The project “Evaluating the Efficiency and Effectiveness of the Municipal Direction for Child Protection in Chisinau” runs until the end of this year.
