Between 2007 – 2009, APSCF prepared the Alternative Report to the UNCRC. Developing the Alternative Report to UNCRC. The consultation process took place at local and national level and continued with their generalisation in terms of conclusions and recommendations presented to the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child at the end of 2008. Part of the process was also the elaboration of the children’s alternative report, activity supported by CIDDC.
RESULTS
- The recommendations of the UN Committee includes many of the recommendations proposed in the Alternative Report and the Children’s Report.
- The exercise of drafting the Alternative Report was a perfect time to assess the capacities of member NGOs in the CDC monitoring. These conclusions were arguments for a new APSCF project – training NGO members in the regions to monitor CDC.
