Representatives of Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe from Germany on a working visit to Chisinau
Kartrin Trushevskyy, Programme Coordinator for Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova and Chandni Kapoor, Programme Manager for the Republic of Moldova had a meeting with the APSCF team, implementer of the project “Assisting Moldovan NGOs in supporting Ukrainian refugees – Phase II” implemented with the financial support of Aktion Deutschland Hilft (ADH) through Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe.
Donor representatives were informed about the degree of implementation of the project, implemented by APSCF through 10 national NGOs.
Afterwards, the guests visited the AO “My Generation” Public Association where the hosts were keen to tell them more about the activities and services that benefit both local youth and children and refugees from Ukraine.
Here, 6 days a week, various after school activities are organized such as: robotics, computer science, English language, handmade workshops, art therapy and even music lessons taught by a teacher from Mexico. Visitors to the centre can also benefit from psychotherapist consultations, etc., if needed.
Some of these activities are financially supported by Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe through the project implemented by APSCF.
The second organisation visited was AO. SOS Autism, where donors had the opportunity to talk with Ukrainian refugees, whose accommodation was organized by AO. SOS Autism. They made sure that the beneficiaries are satisfied with the services delivered through the project supported by Help-Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe, namely food services, provision of medicines, hygiene products, games and educational materials for the children accommodated in the refugee centre. The guests were given a tour of the AO Rehabilitation Centre. SOS Autism where the beneficiaries receive medical consultations, ABA services, speech therapy and psychological counselling.
At the end of the working visit the donors positively assessed the implementation of the project “Assisting Moldovan NGOs in supporting Ukrainian refugees – Phase II”, mentioning the importance of ensuring the continuity of this project in Moldova.
