APSCF Members in Bucharest to Learn from Romanian Peers about Developing and Delivering Services During Humanitarian Crises

Members of the Alliance of NGOs Active in the Field of Child and Family Social Protection (APSCF) are on a three-day study visit to Bucharest to exchange experiences with the Federation of Non-Governmental Organizations for Social Services (FONSS). The purpose of the visit is to explore effective response strategies during and after humanitarian crises, with a particular focus on refugee integration and cooperation between NGOs and public authorities.

The visit agenda includes a joint meeting, discussions with FONSS member NGOs, and field visits to member organizations. FONSS will also share its experience in relation to the EU pre-accession process, the involvement of NGOs in this process, types of funding for social services and activities, and the preparation of organizations to access various funding mechanisms.

“It is essential for organizations in the field of social protection to work closely together, especially during crises, to respond swiftly and effectively to the needs of vulnerable people. This visit represents an opportunity to learn from the good practices of our Romanian colleagues and to build a more coordinated, adaptable, and sustainable humanitarian response,”

said Irina Popușoi, APSCF Secretary General.

As part of the visit, APSCF and FONSS signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen collaboration and promote joint future actions. Additionally, the two organizations agreed on an action plan to enhance APSCF’s advocacy capacities with FONSS’s support.

The visit is organized under the project “Integrated Humanitarian Response for Ukrainians Affected by the Conflict and Third-Country Nationals from Ukraine, Poland, Romania, and Moldova”, implemented by APSCF and funded by the German Federal Foreign Office through Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH).
